Today we left Toronto and arrived in Los Angeles, LAX is huge. The walk from our departure gate to the baggage carousel seemed to be longer than a walk from our place to Mackies on the main beach in Port Stanley. It took at least twenty minutes.
The flight to LA was very smooth. We had magnificent views of the Grand Canyon and the San Bernardino mountains.
The temperature was nice but cool by LA standards. It was in the high teens when we landed and sunny. No complaints here.
We are staying in the Hilton close to the airport. When we arrived my first reaction was, which one of Dante's seven circles of hell have we entered? They are having the Los Angeles Conscious Life Expo, this weekend and the hotel was packed with middle aged hippies. It is filled with chanting, drum circles, holistic medicine seminars and a ton of other new age seminars. In total they expect 200 exhibitors and 12000 visitors.
Only in Southern California.
Tomorrow night we leave LA for Fiji. It will be an eleven hour flight.
