Another day and the humidex is going to exceed 40
again. This has sapped all our energy,
so it would appear that today is going to be a lazy laid back day.
We are staying in the Radisson Blu Resort on Denarau Island
in Fiji. It is located among 10 acres of tropical gardens, picturesque
waterfalls, four climate controlled lagoon pools and a private beach that is
accessible during low tide.
It has six
unique on-site restaurants and numerous bars, including a swim up counter. So far, we’ve eaten at four of the
restaurants and each had very good food.
Marg being gluten intolerant has found their selection of food to be
much better than expected.
We were upgraded to a superior suite and it is excellent
with all the modern conveniences that you would expect In a modern hotel. Being that the hotel is on the ocean, we do
get a nice breeze in the evening. This
is nice given how hot and humid it has been.
All the staff are friendly and efficient. As we pointed out in previous posts, they all
greet you with the now very familiar “Bula”.
This evening we had dinner in the hotel’s Thai restaurant. We ordered the main platter and we assured that the portions would be adjusted for two people. I think we eat about a half what was brought to our table. There was way too much food.
During our meal a Fijian Fire Dance show was performed. It was quite the spectacular show and very
enjoyable. I did find out that my camera
is not very good for action shots in the dark.
I’m still getting use to the settings such as ISO, aperture, exposure compensation
and shutter speed. The preprogrammed
settings just didn’t cut it.
